I immediately noticed the puzzle piece when I first looked at this. You did a very good job at moderating yourself. Although it is supposed to be "psychedelic mountains," you did not overuse bright, saturated colors or intense contrast. In fact, the trees are practically a dirty brown. I really love that you did this because it gives the piece modesty.

Also speaking of color, good job with layering the values. The mountains getting darker towards the back, the sky doing the same thing towards the bottom, and the trees toward the front, all work very very well together. It gives it a definite feeling of depth and the light seems very focused on the where the trees meet the mountains. The rocks in the front even express this as the ones in back keep the light from reaching the ones in the front.

Back to the puzzle piece, this is another good use of moderation. It is seemingly out of place but you kept this effect very subtle by only putting one puzzle piece down. Nicely done.

Another thing you did well is the use of texture. The texture on the trees even looks like branches in some parts whereas the mountains definitely have a more rock-like texture.

I'm not sure if you had much of a deeper vision for this than just a range of psychedelic mountains, it isn't too clear if there's a message or anything. It doesn't have much impact on me past the aesthetics.

All in all though, I like this a lot.
